Last week, Gael Force had the opportunity to connect with young children at Camp Woodhaven in West Boylston, MA. The team was very excited to be impacting a young generation of future engineers, scientists, and mathematicians. The campers at Woodhaven were able to see new technology and Gael Force students and mentors were thrilled to explain the intricacies of the bot and motivate the campers to pursue STEM at all ages.
Check out the video of the day from Camp Woodhaven:
This past weekend, May 19th and 20th, the team went to WPI to compete in an off-season event. With this event, the mentors have taken a backseat and let the students lead on their own. Ranging from coaching all the way to leading the mechanical aspects, students showed their ability to face a challenge and encourage! We are very excited for next year after attending this event due to the teamwork and leadership the students showed. Even rookie members were able to drive and operate the machine and showed everyone what the next season of Gael Force will look like! Additionally, senior members showed how much they’ve grown during their time on Gael Force by taking those leadership roles and teaching the younger students how to fully embrace all that FIRST can offer.
It’s Way Back Wednesday!
Recently, students at Clinton High have been going through old pictures and VHS videos and uploading them to YouTube. They happened to come across this video, the 1992 FIRST Championship where Gael Force won!
April 25, 2018 approximately 4:00AM,
An early morning wake up on a Wednesday can only mean one thing…. It’s Championship time! Although we are all groggy from the 4am wake up, we’re all excited to be traveling to Detroit, MI, for the FIRST Championship Event. With 16 students and 10 mentors, we’re ready to get on the plane and make our way to a new city and compete against some of the best teams in the world.
….. It’s true… We may have fallen off the social media bandwagon but we’re getting back on, starting with our new Facebook page!
Check it out: https://www.facebook.com/FRC126/
We’ll be posting short updates and news from our competitions there as well as connecting with more people! You’ll get to see pictures, live updates, and hear from students about FIRST Robotics and the Clinton community.
